R. Maxwell Racine
Welcome! I am a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy, Religion, and Interdisciplinary Studies at Georgia College & State University.
My research lies at the intersection of ethics, existentialism, philosophy and literature, and social and political philosophy. In particular, I explore how stories in life and literature serve as important sources of understanding, including in contexts of structural oppression.
I earned my Ph.D. in Philosophy at Fordham University in 2022. My dissertation, "Narrative, Receptivity, and Understanding Others," addresses the failures of people who occupy positions of privilege to take oppression seriously.
This site contains my up-to-date CV, as well as information about my research and teaching.
